Terms of Use

Last updated October 12, 2026.

Walls (the website at walls.dance and the Walls mobile app, together the "Service") is owned and operated by Walls Dance LLC ("Walls," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Service. By using the Service, or by agreeing when asked (for example, by continuing past a notice that links to these Terms), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Walls.

1. Accounts

Who can use Walls. You must be at least 18 years old to use Walls. By using Walls, you confirm that you are.

Your account. When you sign up, give us accurate information and keep it current. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for all activity under your account. If you think someone has accessed your account without permission, let us know right away. You can delete your account at any time from account settings.

2. Using Walls

License. We give you a limited, personal, non-commercial, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service under these Terms.

Restrictions. You may not sell, rent, or commercially exploit the Service; copy, modify, or reverse-engineer it; use it to build a competing product; or scrape, copy, or collect data from it by automated means.

Changes to the Service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, and we aren't liable for doing so. We have no obligation to provide support.

Ownership. We own the Service and its content, other than what you post. These Terms don't give you any ownership rights in it.

Feedback. If you send us suggestions or feedback, we can use them freely without paying or crediting you.

Early access and beta features. We sometimes offer features to some users before everyone else, in early access, beta, or a similar program. These features may be unfinished, may not work as expected, and may change or be removed at any time. You use them at your own risk, and everything in these Terms, including the disclaimers and limitation of liability, applies to them.

3. What you share

You own what you post on Walls, including your logged nights, profile, and bio. You give Walls a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, display, and use it as needed to run the Service, including showing it to the people your account settings allow. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for anonymous, aggregated data, like the dance counts on bar pages, which may stay after you delete a night.

You decide who can see your nights. Approving a follower or making your account public means those people can see where and when you've logged. You're responsible for those choices and for what you post.

4. Sharing where you dance

Logging a night shares which bar you were at, and when, with the people your settings allow. You accept the privacy and safety risks that come with sharing that, and to the fullest extent the law allows, Walls is not responsible for how other people use what you've shared. Think about who you approve, and whether to make your account public.

5. How not to use Walls

Don't use Walls to:

  • Stalk, harass, threaten, or intimidate anyone
  • Track someone's whereabouts without their knowledge, or use what you see on Walls to show up somewhere a person doesn't want you
  • Share someone else's logged nights or location outside Walls without their permission
  • Impersonate someone or create accounts in someone else's name
  • Log nights for another person without their permission
  • Post anything illegal, hateful, or sexually explicit
  • Interfere with how Walls works

If someone is misusing Walls, report them from their profile. We review reports, but we can't see everything that happens on Walls or in person. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close any account that we believe violates these Terms or puts others at risk, with or without notice.

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it, and is part of these Terms.

7. Bars, other users, and third-party services

Bars. Walls isn't affiliated with the bars listed unless we say so, and we don't guarantee that schedules, events, or other information about a bar are accurate.

Other users. Your interactions with other users, on Walls or in person, are between you and them. We aren't responsible for any loss or harm that results, including anything that happens at a venue or when you meet someone you know through Walls.

Third-party services. Walls links to and embeds services we don't control, like YouTube and Spotify. Your use of them is at your own risk and under their terms.

Release. To the fullest extent the law allows, you release Walls and its team from claims arising out of other users or third-party services. If you're a California resident, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party."

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless Walls and its team from claims and reasonable costs, including attorneys' fees, arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or anyone else's rights.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T PROMISE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT IT WILL KEEP YOUR DATA.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS: (A) WALLS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE; AND (B) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $50 OR WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.

11. Termination

These Terms apply as long as you use Walls. You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or close your account at any time, including if we believe you've violated these Terms. Sections 2 through 13 survive termination.

12. Notice for California users

Under California Civil Code Section 1789.3, California users are entitled to this notice: Walls is provided by Walls Dance LLC, 1329 Clay Street, Apt. 3, San Francisco, CA 94109. To file a complaint or get more information, contact us at lauren@walls.dance. You may also contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 N. Market Blvd., Suite N112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210.

13. General

Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use Walls after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law. These Terms are governed by California law. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in San Francisco County, California, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court.

Electronic communications. You agree to receive communications from us electronically, and those communications satisfy any requirement that they be in writing.

Entire agreement. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Walls about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver of it. You may not transfer these Terms without our written consent; we may.
